“Aarambh: Nayi Duniya ka” is a pioneering project aimed at promoting menstrual hygiene and breaking taboos surrounding menstruation among women and girls in rural and semi-urban areas. Our mission is twofold: to raise awareness about the importance of using sanitary pads and to ensure access to free menstrual hygiene products in these communities, particularly in schools.
In many rural and semi-urban areas, women and girls face significant challenges due to the lack of access to proper menstrual facilities and affordable menstrual products. As a result, girls often miss school during their menstrual cycles, leading to a disruption in their education and hindering their overall development.
Through “Aarambh,” we are addressing this pressing issue by distributing free sanitary pads to schools and communities in need. In Agra alone, we have partnered with 12 schools, providing sanitary pads to girl students on a regular basis every month. Additionally, we have distributed over 6000 packets of sanitary pads during the COVID-19 lockdowns. By ensuring access to menstrual hygiene products, we are not only promoting the health and well-being of women and girls but also empowering them to pursue their education without interruption.
